Campground near Atlanta, GA?

Any recommendations for a campground that is about a 20-30 minute drive (or closer) from Atlanta, GA? TIA!
  • I looked into Atlanta area CG's back in 2012 and we wound up at Stone Moutain Park. Liked it but I hope they upgraded their electrical service. We were there in July and my voltmeter showed the drop in voltage to be almost 10%.
  • We have stayed at Stone Mountain many times. I think that is the best choice for Atlanta.
  • Which direction are you coming from? There are many good COEs around Lake Lanier, which is up off I-85N of Atlanta. There are also many good COEs around Lake Allatoona which is up off I-75N about 40 miles north of Atlanta. Stone Mountain has a good campground about 20miles east of Atlanta. There is also a good state park at Cartersville, up I-75N about 40miles north or Atlanta. High Falls SP is a very nice campground about 50miles south of Atlanta.

There is nothing real close to Atlanta that you'd want to stay at.
  • A ways south about and hour + but a far better state park than most.

High Falls State Park 76 High Falls Park Dr 28.00 to 31 (pull thru. 1.800.864.7275

Most parks are for trailers under 34 foot this one has some nice back ins that you will have no trouble getting in or out. The area is secured by electric gate so you need a pass to get in after 10 pm nice feature.
