Campground near Hartford Ct for the weekend of the May 31st

Nope, its the weekend after the holiday. I called a couple today. All had spaces available. I'll make a decision in the morning

Isn't May 31st Memorial Day Weekend? You'll probably have a difficult time getting a reservation... just saying...

Thanks guys this is the kind of feedback I was hoping for. I'll be making calls tomorrow. I'm hoping somebody has something available.

This would be a good option. Nelson is a good campground but not exactly the quickest to Hartford. You would have to go up Rt 66 north to Rt 2 into Hartford or 66 south to Rt 9 to I91 to Hartford. I think Bear Creek would be best if you can get in.

Also, in Willington, CT there's Wilderness Lake Campground. Campground is a easy 5 minute drive from I84 and about 30 min east of Hartford

Was there yrs ago and in my same town...It's a average campground.

We are local and have camped here quite a few times. We are headed there for memorial day weekend. Its a good campground. About 20 mins to Hartford. Fairly easy to get to/from Hartford from here via rte 66 and rte 2. G area is quiet but up a bit of a grade.
