- K_CharlesExplorerWe like to drive down the road and stop when we feel like it, "pot luck" on the campground until we get where we are going. Sometimes we only stay one night, sometimes we stay longer. Sometime other campers say we were just at ______ and it was good and if we are going that way we might stop and see. There are a lot of nice parks that aren't in any books.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Google maps.
Here is the "string"
campground loc:town name, state/province - Bob___AnnExplorerRV Park Reviews is our main tool. After we locate what we are looking for we check the GoodSams and Passport America Web site to see if we can get a discount.
- brireneExplorerI use rvparkreviews, but also rvparky app (or rvparky.com). Once I find a park I'm interested in, I check out the reviews.
- magnusfideExplorer IIWe and many other RVers have quit using RvPark Reviews when there was too much censoring of the criticism of owners. We use Woodalls.com to narrow the choices around a destination then look for reviews at TripAdvisor.com; there are also reviews of cgs elsewhere too - just do a search for campground reviews. When you narrow down your choices you can search this forum for the cg to see if anyone has been there.
- 4runnerguyExplorerIf I'm going to an unfamiliar area, my first stop is this campground map. Type in the name of the nearest town/state and you will be zoomed into that area. You can then move the map around, zoom in/out, etc. Shows both private CG's plus NFS, NPS, SP, COE, BLM CG's.
- 1775ExplorerBest campground search there is - and it includes links to campground reviews at RVparkreviews. Easy to put in any location and find if and what campgrounds there are - not just look at towns with campgrounds like RVparkreviews does -
