Campgrounds near Washington D.C.?

Cherry Hill is a great place to stay if touring DC. Use the Metro. It is very convenient and will take you where you want to go. I think Cherry Hill even offers a class on how to get around DC. I would never attempt to drive in DC and search for parking. We did, however, drive to Mt Vernon but that route was not congested. I believe Cherry Hill also offers tours.
