Realize the OP has already completed his trip...but in case anybody else finds this thread...
Olive Branch is a nice little campground. We stayed there for our first outing with our HTT. Only real complaint was interstate noise. But we were there in October; so the trees didn't have any leaves. - legolasExplorerThanks to all who gave me very good suggestions. Unfortunately as we approached the area around 4:30 pm we entered a massive rain storm and so I elected to get a motel room instead of trying to set up in the pouring rain. It was a good choice because the rain continued for about 3 hours.
- tracyb-ohExplorerI forgot about Caesar Creek State Park. That would be a great choice. It is the Route 73 Wilmington Exit exit off I71. Would be just a few minutes off the interstate. Paved pads and they have a few full hook ups with the rest electric only.
- littleluck55ExplorerCaesar Creek is about 50 miles north of downtown Cincinnati on 71 and is a very nice state park with nice, wide sites. Winton Woods is another good option at north end of Cincinnati.
- FlintstonesExplorerI would stay at Winton Woods with their concrete pull thru's or concrete back ins. You can't beat the price and it's a well run park in a great setting and close to major highways. We loved out stay there a few years ago.
- Matt_ColieExplorer IIIf you have a motorhome, join FMCA and stay at the FHU at the Cinci mail center for free. As that is about 4 hours south of us, we often use it as a first stop when going that way.
Matt - cecerecreekExplorerAt I-71 exit 45, @ route 73 , which is 45 miles north of Cincinnati there is a 1000 Trails RV Park that is open to the public. Easy off & on to I-71. Not all sites are FHU but chances would be good of securing a FHU since your traveling on a week day. Being from that general area, I think it would be the easiest off & on access for you and keep you out of rush hour traffic the next morning. Not any convenient grocery stores in the "close" area so stock up before arriving. Someone had mentioned Winton Woods Campground off I-275. Although a great RV park it's a little off your route and probably 30 minutes from I-71, plus would put you in traffic the next morning
- Jim_ShoeExplorer"S & T" is "Streets and Trips". Its an on line route mapping program and allows you to hunt for CGs or other things within "x" miles of your selected point. Microsoft markets it, although I've heard rumors that they may stop making it or at least sell it off to somebody else. It isn't like you need a new copy every year.
