camping around Seattle

Heading down end on july for a week from Calgary, Alberta. Looking for advice on campgrounds not to far from city.

I have 2 little boys aged 7 and 9 and would like to find a campground with a pool. We have a 30 foot fiver.

Did some research and know there is the KOA but man a week stay there is about 500 bucks!!!!!! I find them to be tight and overpriced. IMO

Any advice?

Would like to take the family to a ball game, shopping for wife, and I hear of a very good tour of the airline ( bowing?????)

thanks
Rob

  • Dash Point State Park does have some full hookup spots, 3 of them with sewer. It doesn't have a pool but go across the street and there's a beautiful big sandy beach for them to play at. You can't beat it. The park is about 25 to 30 miles from Seattle. It's located out in Federal Way area that has tons of shopping, and is only about 7 or 8 miles away. I go every year just for the beach.
  • The Baseball stadium is near down-town. The Boeing Air Museum is actually south of there. The Boeing factory tour is north (Everett).

You also might want to take a look at the RVPARKREVIEWS.COM and get some ideas what is in the area.

There are urban parks (like inside Everett, etc), rural parks (ok so they are a drive), trash parks (really low rent), State Parks, many choices.
  • The Boeing plant you refer to is in Everett, which is north of Seattle, so I thought you might be interested in possibilities in that area.

There's a really nice County park near there that, though it doesn't have a swimming pool, does have a beautiful swimming beach/area at the warmwater lake it's situated on. Rates are around thirty dollars a night for hookup sites- no sewer hookups, but there's a dumpstation at the nearby Monroe Fairgrounds, which you'd have to pass by on the way out anyway.

The park's name is "Flowing Lake County Park" and pictures/information can be found at Snocoparks.org
  • Tall Chief RV Resort in Fall City is 25 miles from Seattle. Have never stayed there but looks like what you are looking for
