Look at Rocky Hock cg near Edenton NC. It is only 1.5 hrs from the Outer Bank but the cg is on the Chowan River which is fresh water. You can put a boat over, canoe or go into Edenton. Edenton is like a little Charleston. Lots to see and do in the area.
