Rivers and Lakes

DW likes to camp next to rivers and lakes. We have some great places we go here in WA but I would like to venture away to some new locations. Can any of you recommend some nice campgrounds with (water/sewer/elect as we do not dry camp) that are located at rivers or lakes in the western states of OR,ID, MT, WY etc.?

Many thanks!

  • Although it is true that most Corps of Engineers parks are east of the Mississippi, most of the BLM areas are in the West.

If you feel you have the means to dry camp you have free access to some of the most beautiful spots in the country. Try asking some of the folks that inhabit the "Public Lands, Boondocking and Dry Camping" forum. I envy the access y'all, in the West, have to these resources.
  • That looks perfect but alas...perhaps a destination when retirement occurs but Alabama is almost as far from us as you can get :(
  • If you were in the SE I would suggest any of the the 100's of COE parks. All (?) are near water.
