Canadians- buy an RV in the US and leave it there ?

I would like to buy a trailer in the US and NOT bring it back to Canada. I plan on storing it there in the summer and using it each winter. I'd like to know about paying sales tax, what about register...

We have a fiver permanently on a lot in Florida.
Bought and registered there.
In Florida, permanent units must be tagged.

We pay the tag and insurance as though we were residents,
no problem.
