Cape cod

Has any one ever heard of Cape Cod Campresorts and cabins in Falmouth? I think it's in Falmouth. Looks a little pricey. Thanks.

Our 37th anniversary was April 24th and we've never been on the Cape. We'll be there next week at Sweetwater Forest to break in our new trailer for a few days.

  • The Cape has changed a lot since '65! Patti Page sang "If your fond of sand dunes and salty air..." Well, if you are, avoid the Hyannis area like the plague and head for the Outer Cape or the North Shore (Route 6A). Be sure to stop for a lobster Roll at the Sesuit Harbor Café in Dennis! We "driveway camp" on the Cape 2 or 3 times a year, so can't help you much with specific CGs, but Sweetwater in Brewster has a good rep...
  • Most of the cg's in the East reflect the property taxes they pay, unlike the rest of the country, the land is of great value and taxed like it. Thus, high prices!
  • I was stationed at Otis AFB in '65 as an inflight refueling operator on KC-97's in SAC and lived in East Falmouth on Pacheco Path. We traveled all over the cape and the islands and it was a weonderful time. Any time you can get to the cape, the cost is worth it.There was some great summer stock there and we had fun at some of the auction houses. Going out to the end of the cape was well worth the time.

Seriously now! Did you actually get to SEE any of the Cape? :)
  • remember they do have a shorter camping season to make their money in.. Yes, it is a lot of money..but still it is Cape Cod. Stop at Arnolds for some scallops and shrimp.. and clam chowder.. darn, now I need a trip..
  • Yeah, but we New Englanders get very depressed when we travel to other parts of the country and see how much less expensive CG fees are, compared to here. ;)

  • Decent CG. Nothing overly fancy, but well located, sites are well sized. Everything in this area is overpriced.....
