Cape May NJ area campgrounds

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here stayed at Lake Laurie, Big Timberlake or Holly Shores in the Cape May area? We are planning our vacation this summer and would love your opinion if you stayed at any of these campgrounds? Or any campground in the Southern NJ area. Any information at all, good or bad would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
  • Thanks for the information...It's a toss up between Holly Shores and Big Timberlake....decisions, decisions...We are looking for somewhere we can have fun, relax, but yet the campground also needs to be lively as we have older children coming with us part of the time. Thanks again
  • We stayed in Holly Shores two weeks ago. The lake is not swimmable, but the pool complex is very nice. Sites are gravel, not dirt/sand, which drain well and are level. Lots of no see'ums and mosquitoes, but that's Jersey camping. Bathhouse near our site was outdated by very clean. Expect to pay a quarter for showers; again, that's Jersey camping. I don't recall any noise at night, but kids weren't out of school yet. Have fun!
  • We have stayed at Big Timber Lake several times, always in the area next to the swimming pond. Great activities, large sites, lots of amenities. Big Timber gives out free beach tags to Stone Harbor and Avalon, just sign them out when you go and return them when your done.
  • Thanks for the information everyone...We have stayed at Ocean View Resorts many times, as we have friends there. We have also stayed at Seashore Campsites, very beautiful campground, but booked the week we are vacation. I'm leaning towards Holly Shores, does anyone know if you can swim in their lake? Also, what is their quiet time like at night?
  • stayed at both holly shore is much better and closer than timber lake 10 min drive to cape may from holly shore 25 min from timber lake
  • Seashore Campsites can't be beat. We go every year--perfect place for family fun. Pictures and reviews on our blog.
  • We used to go to Ocean View every year. It's a little further north, exit 17 on the GSP but very nice.
  • Try seashore campground on seashore rd in erma. Much nicer and friendlier imho
