Caprock Canyons & lake arrowhead state parks in texas

Looking for thoughts about both state parks. Easy access, if you've stayed, there, etc. Traveling through texas in May with class a 33 ft MH and 2 medium size dogs. Any other camping suggestion welco...

We often stay at Palo Duro Canyon SP when passing through on I-40. Panhandle-Plains museum in nearby Canyon is worth a visit.

The Dog Canyon campground in Guadalupe Mtn NP is a no-frills spot but you'll likely have the place to yourself. Its in a beautiful little box canyon with the ranger's residence being at the entrance so security is not a problem. The more heavily visited Pine Canyon campground is a parking lot - not recommended.
