We live in Tucson, and have visited Karchner several times. We've also been to Carlsbad. They both have their strong points. If you are going to camp by Karchner, we'd recomment Tombstone Territories RV Park. It's between Tombstone and Karchner and very nice. We also just visited Petrified Forest again last month. If you can only see two of the three, I'd recommend the caverns and skip the rock forest.
