- TyroneandGladysExplorerMy two cents worth the difference between RV and vehicle is that with the RV you by running the generator or by being plugged into shore power you can have the AC on and the temperature in the RV will not get to lethal levels.
Yes IF the generator failed it would get to hot Yes IF the AC failed it would get to hot.
However IF you left your pet at home while you went to work and the power went out it could become to hot for your pet.

As far as IFs go just remember if a frogs backside wasn't water tight it would drown.
We have called many attractions and have asked about running the generator while parked in there parking lots. Most have said no problem as long as it was a "built in" generator.
The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens stated no problem as long as we parked in the truck parking lot. - cruiserjsExplorerSorry but under the info for Cave Tours it says, " Please do not leave pets in vehicles" This includes RVs?? It should!
- SFVdaveExplorerThanks for all the info.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIKartchner has a beautiful campground in a pretty setting. Their tours are very professional and the cave lighting exceptional. This is a living cave - still growing, and altogether different from Carlsbad. It also has a very interesting discovery story. We volunteered there. :)
- SFVdaveExplorerMay have to stay in the Kartchner CG instead of going back to Tucson or just go on to Carlsbad instead. Been there once 5 years ago and saw the bats leaving.

Parking lot is one thing, in the campground it is allowed. - cruiserjsExplorerFrom the Park Policy-"...Pets should not be left unattended in vehicles in the parking lot ..."
In spite of other opinions!! - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIHere are the 'official' regulations:

Every place has different regulations. It's best to check them out. - azdryheatExplorerWe routinely leave our two dogs in our TH while we sight-see or go for motorcycle rides, sometimes for up to 8 hours. Our dogs grew up this way and take it in stride.
- LJAZExplorerYou aren't allowed to leave your pet outside unattended, but there's no rule against leaving your pet in the trailer. The last time I stayed there someone a few spaces down left 2 dogs in their toyhauler who barked & whined most of the day. The park ranger drove by a few times and didn't seem to be worried about it. If your dog doesn't bark it won't be a problem at all.
