Central CA campgrounds?
Looking for some suggestions for places to camp on the California Central Cost. Full hookups are not a requirement but would be nice and also close to the ocean would be great too! Thanks.

Morro Bay State Park is great with full hook-ups.

For those that have stayed at the Moro Bay park, do you have a preferred spot?

After 10pm I understand that people are starting to go to sleep but during daylight is another story.Eyetattoo wrote:

not sure what your definition of "kid friendly" is. it's a pretty typical California state park. it's flat and pretty open, except for the back loop.
the hookup spots are pretty close together, compared to the non hookup sites. though hookups are nice, for me, they're too close together for me and i prefer some of the other loops.

I don't mind having neighbors in view, we have campgrounds close by that allow us to be in remote locations. Sometimes its nice to have all the hookups and nice paved areas for the kids to ride their bikes/scooters.
We stayed at this KOA in Moss Landing last weekend that was a little too close for comfort. We were there to be close to Laguna Seca for the races, if we were there to actually camp it would have been a major let down. Don't get me wrong it was very clean and friendly, just felt like a parking lot.

Yes it is kid friendly.
I can guarantee there will be 100's of kids there up until the end of August.
Then it will quiet down a little and be slightly less foggy in the morning.
Morrow sites are kind of open so yer neighbors will always be in view.
There's plenty of room for larger rigs tho.
Lots of boat traffic there at the marina on the inlet.
It's a fun place.
Kids will love it.
