Cody SP campground

Looking for some recommendations in staying in Custer SP. It looks Like there are some options on which campground you stay in inside the park. Looking for sites with electricity. I have been looking at their web site and will be calling them soon. Looking for some recommendations from someone that has been there.

  • State Game Lodge campground is the only one with a dump station, but all the campgrounds have some elec sites nowadays. It is a nice campground with big sites and most of them have some shade.
All the campgrounds are nice with really nice shower houses.
We find Sylvan Lake and Blue Bell to be a bit too far off track for us.
We like Legion Lake because it's smaller than most, so not as busy.
Stockade Lake North is well located and heavily shaded. Stockade Lake South is fine but back off the main road a bit.
and Grace Coolidge is small and right on the main road.
As said, they're all nicely kept.
Hope you can get a site. Custer Park is a very popular destination.
  • We stayed at State Game Lodge (campground part) last summer. It was clean, has laundry facilities and was close enough to the things we wanted to do. I'm sure there are better places but I'd go back. We had (at the time) a 34' 5er so our campground choices were limited and we fit just fine.
