I used that same unit for a year or so tent camping. Finally I left it on the propane burner too long and it melted down the bakelite and couldn't use it any more haha...
I have to agree it sure did make good coffee like the both of us liked.
Right now my backup coffee maker is the plain ole coleman peculator. We use the CUISINART grind and brew coffee maker to brew up our fresh ground bean coffee for the day.
Every morning at 8AM we will be using our 2KW generator to re-charge our battery banks using the PD9260C on-board converter/charger unit. It only takes five minutes time to grind and brew fresh ground bean coffee using the Cuisinart DGB-600BC. This brews up into a thermos carafe and then completely powers off...
