...in addition to the US Wind Map link I posted here back 2 years ago, you can link to an orthographic surface map of the entire planet:
here-->...the above near-realtime lower-level wind circulation map can be panned and zoomed to show any region on Earth (ie. you could see the complex "polar vortex" and all its huge "Lows" by panning the orthographic view to a look-down on the north pole region of Earth; or you could zoom right into the RGV, Yuma area or Florida to see lower-level wind speeds). Caveat: when I say, "lower level winds", I don't mean wind right at ground level ! Also, you can visualize the polar and sub-tropical jets, too (if you have a bit of meteorological training)...
....also, this is a link to the GFSx 10 day visualization from Weatherstreet (not Wall Street; in map format) over North America,
here--> So, if you put a lot of weight in the GFS model, you can see where the 300mb jet will swing up to 10 days out (updated twice a day), and when the jet swings north of snowbird locales like Florida, the RGV and southern Arizona, this would be a good thing for warmer temps (but unfortunately, precipitation, too, possibly)...
With the above, you could fairly confidently predict when/where/and roughly, how long warmer weather will be over your snowbirding locale !
