While it is certainly understandable that you choose not to provide the exact location, but it would serve the many if you would share in how you accomplished your adventure to Davis, CA. Many great suggestions were shared by many of the helpful people here, to your benefit. Used or not. It really comes down to whom frequent Forums like this. Those that wish to help others with their own experiences and blunders and those that only come here to gather information and not contribute. You choose how you wish to participate.
What might be helpful would be whether you ended up Stealth Camping, or just going to a nearby RV Park/Campground. If the former, what worked best? Going the Curb route? Residential, Commercial or Gov location? Parking lot at a business, current or out of business? Or a Wal-Mart for dry camping? Any information would benefit others in maybe trying it for the first time and seeing you were attempting the same, with great results.
