Dead Horse Point sites

Hi Folks,

Anyone have special sites they love in Dead Horse Point SP? We've visited before when in Moab, but not camped. Also for anyone who has been, how do you compare the new CG to the old?

Thanks,

Steve

  • Thanks folks. We last visited Moab a lot of years ago. We went up to Dead Horse Point for views and hiking, and I loved the look of the CG. We now have a much more self contained RV (5th wheel to Winnebago View) and I'm looking forward to staying there. Hope I can get a reservation. Will go online the day I can.

  • With the new Wingate campground and the Kayenta campground that's going to be a very popular place to stay. We've stayed a few times at Kayenta and loved it. I don't think you can go wrong with any site. Both are in the general area.

Keep in mind that neither campground has water for an RV tank so be sure to fill up before getting to the campground. There is a dump station.

  • The Wingate campground opened in 2018 and by the website pictures looks much newer shade kitchen units, site layouts, etc. The Kayenta campground hasn’t changed much from when we were there in 2013 it appears, as others pointed out not much difference between the sites.Try and find a website that shows the pictures of all the sites and proceed from there. Early reservations are probably a must.
  • I didn't even know they built a new one.

I stayed in the winter of 2015, all the sites I saw were more or less similar.
