- lfloomExplorerWe loved Dead Horse - great location to see the surrounding area, and also lots of hikes that start in the park (nice path to get to the old town of Cottonwood)
We were also in the upper area - it is newer and quieter. The lower area is older with more established plants. It is also a bit noisier, since it is more tent friendly. - tragusa3ExplorerDan, you caught it. I was assuming the OP was talking of the one right near Moab.
- bikendanExplorerjust to clarify, there are two Deadhorse parks, this one and Deadhorse Point SP in Utah.
- JTExplorerThanks again to all who replied; even in early April, a little shade might be welcome, so I'll try for (the lower) Quail Loop and hike up to the other loops to see what I missed! ;)
- HappyCamper89ExplorerWe had site 64 last April. It was a nice site, but we walked to the Cooper Hawk loop and they had the best views... I think sites 85 thru 90 were the ones with the better views. Check out this site for pictures of individual campsites.

Jack and Nina, I have reservations at nearby Devil's Garden for mid June. I'm worried about having no A/C while sleeping at night and have thought about moving to Deadhorse. Do you think we should? I'm thinking desert nights cool down enough and the humidity is low. Any thoughts?
I am not familiar with that CG nearby. Where is it located?
It's in Arches. Actually, I just googled it and am shocked that it is just over an hour northeast from Deadhorse. Distances are deceiving on the map. Maybe I should split up my days between the two.
Sorry for the sidetrack. I'll disappear as quick as I came. ;) - ennajeanExplorerWe enjoy the park and have stayed there quite a few times. We have always stayed in the wooded lower level as like the trees for shade.

This is one of those campgrounds where is there not much difference between the quality of sites. You choice is pretty clear - up high or down low.
You can walk into downtown along a river trail and sit at one of the coffee shops and enjoy the old town area,
