We have a trip coming up. Can Kayaks be used there? All info greatly appreciated!
It has Access to the beach - we used to surf there ........
In the inlet I would think not - some STRONG currents
Google Earth it and see if you can find something to your liking?
BOL, - rollingwheels2ExplorerThanks for the reply. We will bring a surf rod and some crabbing gear. Might leave the Yak at home.
- spoon059Explorer IIYea... you don't want to take a kayak there. The currents from the inlet and the ocean are rough. Now... if you have an ocean kayak and want to be out in the open ocean, that is possible. I wouldn't use a kayak in the open sea though!!!
- Doug33ExplorerThere is a kayak launch just a couple miles north of the CG along Route 1, with access to the bay. The inlet is too turbulent for anything non-powered.
- rollingwheels2ExplorerThanks for all the information. This saves me a lot time and work hauling.
- shar3890ExplorerJust came home from there yesterday. What a beautiful place !!! There were people with ocean kayaks out in water (ocean side). Like everyone said-can't use them in the inlet-too rough.
