National Parks passes are free for disabled vets, and the annual pass is free for active duty military I believe.

Everyone else is $80 a year, still a bargain, but from what I have seen, there is a lot of confusion at some state and federal parks as to what the pass covers. Most say the annual pass does not cover camping, but, may cover boat launch, one host told us, it does not cover boat ramp, but does cover camping, but, not place to enter it when you reserve your site. Might work for walk ups at some places we camp.
