Driving people to boondock by calling themselves a "Resort"

- Dollywood RV Campground - Rumor - (5/16/21) According to a Screamscape source, Dollywood may be working on new plans for their next resort. From the sound of things, this is not the anticipated big-hotel sequel to the popular DreamMore Resort we were expecting them to announce in March 2020 before the pandemic shut down most of the world for a time. Instead our source tells us that the park may be planning a different kind of resort expansion first that will come in the form of an official Dollywood RV Resort. From what I’m told they may be taking some inspiration from DIsney’s Fort Wilderness Resort campground at Walt Disney World for this one, so expect it to feature some themed smoky mountain themed amenities.
I am curious about the location of this, if it comes to pass, and if Dollywood is building this from scratch or if there was an opportunity to purchase an existing campground nearby and upgrade it with new theming and amenities.

I've stayed at Anchor Down. They have the resort pricing down, but not much else. A nice pool and a steep walk to the lake, but crazy high prices. We love the area and our camping group loves Anchor Down, so we'll go back, but its a lot of money for not a lot of "resort".

Pool is nice but a "resort" has cabanas, tended bar, and a towel person.

"Resort" = a newer likely parking lot RV park laid out for pull-thru spots mainly. Has a clubhouse or such, a nice pool, and a high price.

It is not a campground.

One in central Texas for only five year old or newer diesel Class A rigs stays full. They have the site utilities setup for the rig to pull head in - for the sunset views. Brick fire pits, charcoal grill built in, covered picnic table, etc.

Biggest complaint they get is people complaining that they don't know how to back their mega-expensive rig out of the parking spot at the end of their stay.

But they are almost always full.

I have looked at both and resort is a stretch for either.....plenty of better places for less money closer to everything....You going for the camp ground or the surrounding area?

From my experience, over here , if they have a pool it has a good chance to have resort in the name.

It's right on the edge of built up strip, not far from dollywood. Lots of people will go for the music and crowd.

I'll give you 10-1 odds, it's packed for most of the season at $119/n.
