Durango, Co ?

We used the KOA. Enjoyed our stay. Our place in the future if in the area.

We were in Durango in June and stayed at the KOA. I prefer Lightner Creek but they only have 3 50 amp sites right now.

The road up to Lightner creek was under construction to widen a narrow bridge. Owner said the construction crews were good about moving out of the way for RVs to get through.

You won't be disappointed. Lightner Creek is our favorite in Durango and they always treat us well. Enjoy your trip and our state.

Thanks everyone. We have reservations at Lightner Creek RV. Alpen Rose was booked for our length of RV. United - booked. So it was between Bayfield and Lightner. Lightner happened to call back first. All of the parks seemed really nice and the people I spoke with were also nice. Looking forward to meeting up with two sisters from Calif. Haven't been to Durango in 13 yrs. Can't wait to go. I just stayed at lightner creek RV park for a week over the 4th of July, very nice place. When I left there I stayed at the 4j+1+1 in ouray, it's tight but u can walk to all the shops and the hot springs pool.

OP: If you wanted to consider Ridgeway State Park in Ouray, I just plugged into Reserve America for Labor Day weekend and days following & before and there are 141 sites available out of 257 and there are many sites in the PaCoChuPuk Loop which has full hookups. It's $26/night or $182/week. Ouray is a neat little town with the huge hot springs and it's a nice day trip to either Telluride/Silverton and Durango along with Montrose and Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Lots to do from there!

Because we spend every Labor Day at Ridgeway and have to book months ahead. Yes, a site or two is usually held for late comers like you did but that's all. Now, I am talking about full hook-up sites which is what the OP asked about. And the OP also mentioned needing more then one site. There may be more electric-only sites available.
