Don't miss Bar Harbor ME. Great seafood and you do the investigation of Cadillac MT in the Acadia national forest. If you don't have a toad you will want to rent a car for a day because of low underpasses. Car money well spent. First ray of sunshine that hits the US is the top of Cadillac MT. A sight that you will remember forever.

Are you crossing PA on I-76 or taking the northern route of I-80?

If I-76 you will be getting close to the Flight 93 Memorial, Gettysburg, Hershey, Lancaster and possibly Philly. If you then head north on I-81 (provided you forgo Philly) or even if you do come across I-80 you should make a stop at Rickett's Glenn State Park.
If you make a circular route coming back hit the White Mtns, Finger Lakes, Letchworth State Park and of course Niagara (preferably from the Canada side).

I was just up in Acadia this past weekend. I will definitely go back. You can also visit the lower beach areas of Maine. I would also stop in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The drive along the Kangamangus Highway and 302 thru Crawford Notch are great. You said you like biking. The Carriage Roads in Acadia are perfect and many great easy hikes there also. The park loop road is spectacular.

I like to travel outside Ct but there is stuff here if you look for it. CT has about 65 state parks, they don't all have camping but the OP likes fishing.

One of the oldest race tracks in America is still open every day and you can take your car on it between races.

Two casinos, mystic seaport, aquarium, Childrens museum .....

There welcome centers do close at 3:30 every day (to keep taxes down, I guess)

If you get a chance, Townshend State Park in Vermont is well worth your time. Here

Acadia is awesome. We love staying in the park campgrounds that have no hookups, but many private full hookup campgrounds in the area.

Connecticut has Gillete Castle, Mystic Seaport, and Hammonasset State Park (no hookups, on the shore of Long Island Sound).

Also, every town has a colonial era monument on the green and a historical society.
