- MartynNomadIf you are visiting Aurora then the KOA at Strasburg would probably be your best bet. It is 32 miles from there to central Aurora and all freeway (I70 and I225).
I live near Bennett - which is about 10 miles west of Strasburg - and the drive to work in Denver is not to bad - about 45mins for 32 miles or so.
Other choices are the state parks. Cherry Creek is the closest to Aurora, but they do not allow long term stays (14 nights max). - BusskipperExplorer

We plan on going to Denver next summer to visit our kids/grandchildren. We want a nice campground that is an extended stay for the summer with full hookups. Any recommendations?
Good Luck!
We have grandkids also and the only way we have been able to spend the summer months with them is to keep Mobile.
Once - we stayed in Golden for 2 Weeks then grabbed the GD'ers went to the Mountains/ Stagecoach SP/Steamboat/Yampa for 10 days - returned for a week at Longmont Fairgrounds - Left again for 10 days to Leadville/Buena Vista/Collegiates, returning to Jeffco Fairgrounds for 2 Weeks then Headed back east. Spent a couple of Days at Wal*Mart when everything was full - we had a great time - GD's had a great time, used all our time in the available sites that were close to the Kids (2 weeks) also they loved the road trips and their Parents were grateful.
Really - you have the Coach - get the Kids and have FUN - They will love it, only thing I would change is the amount of time we stayed in the area, just too much to see and do in Colorado.
Just a thought,
I think that is exactly what we will have to do. I'm just wondering if any of the resort parks have RV lots that you can buy?
We have been unable to locate anything like that in the Denver area.
I did locate this Trailer Park Park at the B location off Rt 52 You might drive out to see if there is a possibility of staying there.
Back before the present Boom you could pick up some affordable lots in locations like the foothills of Golden and you may be able to do something there. Some had well and septic so you would be able to stay there - Zoning may still be an issue,
Let us know how you do,
Always interesting,

Just a thought, - sdianel_-acct_cExplorerFYI - Dakota Ridge does not have long term sites during the summer according to their website.
- imgoin4itExplorerThere used to be a RV park at the intersection of I-225 and 6th Avenue which is right in the center of Aurora. It bordered the old fitzsimmon army hospital grounds and is now a medical campus. Don't know if it is still in existence and it was never more than a gravel park with full hook ups. Don't remember the name of the place.

In the Denver area, your picks will be limited. The usual recommendations in the area won't work for you -- the various State Parks in the area.
On the west side, consider the Prospect RV Park in Wheat Ridge or the Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden.
On the east side, consider the Denver East/Strasburg KOA. Since you're going to be in the Aurora area, this will be the most convenient to Aurora.
Thank you. I'll look into it. Do you know if there are any RV resorts that you can actually buy an rv lot? - Thom02099Explorer II
