Have never boondocked but may try it this winter. I know that boondockers don't like others to camp too close. What is considered too close? Thanks Nick

I've been boondocking for quite a while. If you don't want to be close to anybody, then find a place that's not accessible to others. If there's a great spot not far away, chances are it could get taken.
At Quartzsite, I'll drive off on dirt roads till no one else is visible.
From the top of Q, 1000's of boondockers are visible.
Back in the 60's we used to call it "wild camping". "Boondocking" sounds like a city slicker term.
