Favorite Campground (with WIFI) in Smokey Mountains

What is your favorite campground in the Smokey Mountain area, maybe near Gatlinburg, TN? Our only requirement is that it has WIFI and / or an excellent Cellular signal.

I have to work from "home" for a day or two on our next trip, and am hoping to be in this area.

We will have our 3 kids with us, 7 & under, who will need plenty of activities during the day.

Thanks,
Brian
  • We've stayed at Jellystone in Cosby TN and had a good time w/ our 2 boys (8 and 6). Not the biggest park, but very nice. It's about 12 miles or so outside of Gatlinburg so if your spouse has access to the vehicle then he/she can take the kids in to town as well for some fun on one or more days.

There's also a Jellystone in Cherokee, NC, on the other side of the mountain. (Yogi in the Smokies) Much larger than the Cosby Jellystone if your kids are in to riding their bikes. Seems like there is more space to spread out there as well.

Both great places for the kids.
  • Pine Mountain RV Resort in Pigeon Forge is our favorite. The sites are all paved and plenty of space. The wifi is great and no problem with any of the sits we have stayed on. There is full hookups, cable tv and the part has a pool. The owners of the park on the hotel across the street and you have access to the hotel pool, lazy river and hot tub.

The park is very level so good for kids riding bikes and playing. The campground is off light #6 and is on the trolley line. It is close to everything but off the main drag so you don't hear noise.

    Love it there.
  • Thanks for all of the awesome responses! I think we're going to try the Jellystone near Gatlinburg. Our kids really love the Jellystone parks (except the one in Florida).

One site picked, 8 more weeks worth to choose!
  • You won't regret it! We will be there 6/29-7/12! Tell them Chris Cline sent you, maybe they will give you a free ice cream cone from the new parlor!

We always stay at RiverEdge Resort in Pigeon Forge. Camp ground on the right coming in from Gatlinburg. Has WIFI and trolley stop. Great location for both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

We stayed at River Edge a couple of years ago. Excellent facilities, but the sites were packed "awning-to-neighbor's-slide". Just across a side street is Twin Mountain Campground which is much more roomy with lots of big shade trees by each site. We discovered it while walking our dogs when we were at River Edge. The next time we visited the area, we stayed at Twin Mountain, and liked it much better. It was a bit less expensive, too.
