Favorite place to camp to avoid the heat in middle USA
Where is your favorite place to camp in the summer to avoid the heat? With a water feature; river, creek, lake etc. Thank you.

Earlier this week near Dallas, the LOW was 81. It was 91 at midnight, 81 about 5:30 as the sun rose and 90 by 9:30 am. I can't hardly take those kinds of temps any longer when the days never get cool.

Southern Colorado just west of town of South Fork along the south fork of the Rio Grande at about 8,500’ elevation. Even in July sometimes you might need a little heat at night. Pretty easy trip from north Texas, even closer for most of Oklahoma.

Yes, but there are other RV parks in the area along with numerous government campgrounds along rivers/streams and lakes if you want more remote sites with no hookups.- Wisconsin Dells area

That's where we go too!- Eastern Sierra above 8000-9000 feet.
