We've stayed at Gettysburg campground several times. I don't know if it's better or worse than others in the area, but it's pretty quiet, reasonably priced and the hosts nice and helpful.

Just the opposite, do NOT camp at Drummer Boy. Bad!

Drummer Boy USED to be the preferred campground-we loved it but since new management took over, review haven't been good. We've also stayed at Artillery Ridge and Granite Hill (but it's been a number of years now). Artillery Ridge is a little more "rustic", very clean and very well run. You can also take horseback riding tours through the battlefields from there. Granite Hill has a nice pool and mini-golf course. It, too, was very clean. However, do NOT accept what they call a "post site". They are very uneven and you are a good distance from any hook-ups.
