Favorite Tucson area CG with a kiddo? Butterfield?

Butterfield looks great, but reviews portray a little child unfriendly? Any other fun, kid-friendly places with heated swimming (for Feb.)??

  • Duh! I meant Phoenix; we'll be in Tucson just prior to that and I got my cities mixed up! Thanks for the recommendation!
  • Oh, if you want to be near Phoenix, I agree, Desert's Edge (for the kid's sake), other, nicer places without kids.
  • You mentioned you want to be 30 minutes of the Brewer's Spring Training. That park is on the west size of Phoenix between I-17 and 101.

So....don't even consider Tucson or Benson. You need to look in Phoenix and there are places in the Phoenix area that are even further than a 30 minute drive. Phoenix is huge.

You might consider this park that welcome children:

Desert's Edge RV - playground, pool, laundry, all ages welcome

    Have a great trip!
  • Are you talking Phoenix or Tucson - they are a long way apart. Butterfield is east of Tucson.
  • It doesn't have to be in Phoenix, I'd just prefer it within 30 minutes of Brewer's Spring Training :D Thanks for the suggestions so far, I'm checking them out now! Any others?
  • Good info so far - Butterfield is a nice park but is in Benson and higher. Many Tucson RV parks are 55 plus and the gem show does indeed fill the RV parks. You might try De Anza down in Amado but it is a ways (maybe 35 miles) from Tucson.
  • Adventure Bound, Cactus Country RV resort has a heated pool, small playground and most likely would have space in February. The word resort is used loosely here, but many people return there every year.

Butterfield CG is in Benson, AZ and at a higher altitude, hence colder nights and days. FYI
  • Of course you know that in February Tucson hosts the Gem and Bead Show, and the whole city is overrun. I suggest you pick a place quickly as the place is crazy. You might want to look at Lazy Days (now a KOA), as kid-friendly in Tucson is not something requested often.
