I have a 36 ft motor home can it fit in a 35 ft site at Fishing Bridge, all the 40 ft sites are gone for the date we wanted. Will be pulling our Jeep also

  • Wonders of all wonders, somebody cancelled a 40 ft site and I got in for the 5 days I wanted starting on 9/14/14

    Thanks for all the replies
  • Every single post says the sights are tight. Given that, I would expect 35-foot site means just that. And I would say with a toad you are looking at more then 1-foot of difference, you're looking at about 12-feet of difference. I would expect your 36-foot MH "and toad" won't fit on a site meant for a 35-foot MH.

You wouldn't imagine a foot making that much difference but this was our experience in June: When I made the reservation I told them our fifth wheel was 32' but the agent put down 35' so that is what they gave us. We could barely fit in to the site because there was a pine tree directly behind our 5th wheel. We ended up pushing directly against the tree. We couldn't open our back window,we scratched our fender but We made it work. We still wonder how they thought a 35' would fit. If it were me I would ask a few more questions just to make sure.
We really liked Fishing Bridge. There is a nice tree lined path that leads to the store, soda fountain/cafe, gas station and museum. We saw our one and only wolf while on a walk to the Fishing Bridge -which is only a short walk from the store.
Some people refer to FB as a parking lot but it's not that bad. There are trees surrounding the RV park. Just be prepared that you are close to your neighbor -but then your neighbor is not going to be there anymore than you will be. You will be in a wonderland......Yellowstone is amazing and you just have to see it for yourself. Good luck with reservations.

Thank you for the feedback this is the type of info I was seeking - I was afraid that the foot would make a difference

  • We were in Fishing Bridge in July as well and had a 32' TT in a 35' spot. While the sites are limited side to side, we had ample room behind us for a longer rig. We did have room to open our slide and awning and park the truck along side, but the awning was into an evergreen tree.
  • We were out in Fishing bridge in July for 6 nights. The sites are definately NOT all the same size. You will not be able to put a 36 footer in a 32 spot. The slots get longer as you move out on the arms of the campground.

We reserved a 35 foot slot for our 33 foot trailer. We backed the unit in as far as it could go, the tongue was right on the edge of the road. We could not open the awning (another tree) and the kids got a kick out of our slide opening up right next to the slide on the camper next to us. We could literally see what they were eating for breakfast.

The spots are VERY TIGHT but the location is central and will save a great deal of drive time.
  • Yes you will fit. The sites are tight but more so side to side than end to end. Your rear corner will back up to or past your nabors.
  • We were just there in July. Your 36' will fit fine and your jeep right beside it if your slideouts allow. Our site barely had room to get slideouts out with our truck beside. Awning was impossible. It really is like a sardine can in most of the sites.

Good thing is you are not there for the "camping". Its a huge magical wonderland. The last place you'll want to be is back at camp.
