- fla-gypsyExplorerGrayton Bch SP, Henderson Bch SP, Florida Caverns SP, in fact every state park in the panhandle will be nice in October
- NORM_WADDELLExplorerConsider Gulf Shores Alabama area, adjacent to Florida.
There are many campgrounds in that area. P M me for
suggestions - scbwrExplorer IIThere's a nice RV resort in Carabelle...can't remember the name but it is right in the main road west of the town of Carabelle. It's an interesting area, and about 30 minutes from Apalachicola. There's also a great park down the road with a great lighthouse.
- JoeRT04ExplorerSt. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach. We visited this park on the way to New Orleans a few months ago. Some sites are right on the water's edge of a lagoon and then on the other side of the park is a most gorgeous beach with the most white sugary fine sand I've seen anywhere.
- Alabama_JimExplorerPlaces I have camped and enjoyed are: ST. Andrews, Panama City, FL, Fort Pickens, Pensacola, FL, Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores, AL. Private campgrounds are: Topsail, Santa Rosa, FL,(next to Fort Walton) and Navarre Beach Campground, Navarre, FL. I hope this helps.
- DutchmenSportExplorerWe've stayed at Port St. Joe, Florida Caverns, Falling Waters, and St. Andrews. All were great! I think Florida Caverns we enjoyed the most, simply because it was AWAY from all the tourist junk. We visited several parks in the Pan Handle too, looked for and evaluating a spot for the next year. All of them are great campgrounds.
- TrailerTravele1ExplorerOur favorite campgrounds in the panhandle are either St George Island or Gulf State Park(Gulf Shores Alabama). The links are my blog post reviews of the campgrounds with photos. We've camped in both in October and they're fabulous - and not as crowded! We're thinking of going back October 2016, so maybe we'll see you there!
- TeamfourExplorerTopsail Hill for the win. You may be able to get a spot for October. Keep in mind that it is still hurricane season in October.
