- Linda_VA2ExplorerI am incorrect. The restaurant in St. Andrews is Uncle Ernie's. Sorry.
Linda - Linda_VA2ExplorerAlthough it has been several years, we love Mexico Beach, about 30 miles east of Panama City. El Governor RV Park is not that great, but it is right across from the Gulf and wonderful beaches on Rt. 98. Short walk and you are on the beach. We love eating at Uncle Arthur's in old St. Andrews and the drive is pleasant to and from. Reagans had the best Oysters Rockefeller I have ever tasted and it is truly a dive.
- CamsmomExplorerDitto to most of those. We have stayed at many and they are all close enough to many good restaurants to stay at any. More importantly is what you like to do while you are there. We love to kayak and think St Andrews is one of the best for that. Grayton is nice too, we had a site with lake access so we could paddle to the beach with all our stuff. Great restaurants in Seaside(think Stepford). Great Southern Cafe, mmm still recall my grits yaya!
Topsail is a shuttle to the beach but used to be a private park so more amenities like a pool. Fort Pickens is awesome, but more isolated. Gulf State park in Alabama we loved, but you have to drive to the beach across the highway.
You would have a great time at any of them. Book whatever you can still get a site at.
We booked for next spring, a week again at St Andrews and for the first time got a week at Henderson.
Enjoy - fla-gypsyExplorerSt Andrews SP, Henderson Bch SP, Topsail Hill SP, and Grayton Bch SP. My personal favorite is Grayton because it has a FHU loop, is less crowded and is halfway between Panama CB and Destin both of which offer great dining choices.
- Mr__CamperExplorerAvalon Landing in Milton. Just a few miles from Pensacola and plenty to do there.
- Skid_Row_JoeExplorerConsider Foley, Alabama...........many R V parks.
Private Message me for suggestions - cyntdon2010ExplorerTopsail! Is the best will be there in mid july.
There many places to eat. our first choice has always been the Back porch
WWW.theback-porch.com - TNRIVERSIDEExplorerWe enjoyed St Andrews. Also Gulf Shores. We did not care for Topsail. Topsail seemed overpriced and too far from the beach. Concrete pads and road needed lots or repair. This was last year.
- HalmfamilyExplorerX3 on Gulf Shores.
- padredwNomadWe have stayed many times over the years at St. Andrews State Park near Panama City, FL and also at Fort Pickens near Pensacola, as well as a few times at Topsail Hill--once at Grayton Beach.
Since you mention restaurants and "things to do", I expect you would like St. Andrews, Topsail Hill, or Gulf Shores in Alabama rather than Fort Pickens.
