We have been going to Willow Tree the last 4 years as well. Funny I never knew they had hay rides. :)
Guess it all depends on the age of the kiddos. Ours are 16 and 20 ( not so little) so mine enjoy the activities they have on site.
I know some of the crazy large campgrounds have lots of stuff to do but I have never felt that Willow Tree was trying to compete with them. I think they have a different notch. Large sites, quite, less gold carts, the inflatables, pool, fishing, volleyball, corn hole and basketball.
Like I always say that is why MB is so great. There is a campground there for everyone.
Did they say why they stopped the hayrides or not,having the Halloween activities? Just wondering if it is because not enough demand for,it? :@
