Fort Leonard Wood MO

Question

Looking for the closest campground to Fort Leonard Wood MO. There is a campground on post but sites are not for larger units. We will be transporting our son at the end of the month and have searched but not really come up with much. Any help appreciated!

Not much to choose from in the area. The 2 closest are: Buckhorn RV Campground (13 sites) and Glen Oaks RV Camp (only 30 amp electric) both in Waynesville. Google map them and choose satellite view and you can get an idea of the layout. We usually stay at Lake of the Ozarks and drive the 50 miles.

Look at Montauk SP (MO).

Montauk State Park is very nice with lots of sites.  It is  around 50 miles to the fort. Curvy road but beautiful ozarks scenery.

Call for reservations and ask for a site in the new area more suitable for big rigs. Very reasonable rates.
