Fort Polk,LA

Question

I will be traveling to Fort Polk ,LA next week. I am looking at two campgrounds so far, Shady Lake and Pecan Acres and I am not to thrilled about either one. I was wondering if anyone has stayed at either one of these or could tell me of another place. Thanks in advance....Jim

Don't know that area but some of the state parks in LA are really nice - and have FHU ... and are reasonable price.

On Edit: South Toledo Bend State Park - north of Ft Polk a half hour or so ...

IF you are military, there's a military campground near the state park = don't bother, it's one of the worst MCG we're ever stayed in. State Park is 1000% better.
