Free Camping.

After Labor Day the camp grounds at Lake Baker Wa. are free. Kulshan camp will remain open this year for snow machine users.

Normal summer rates apply from Memorial Day to Labor Day, $11.00 per day for Seniors, military or US service employees.
  • In AZ it used to be very easy to find great free campgrounds. About 10-12 years ago most forest service campgrounds were free. Today they are $10-$20/night.
  • Many of the USFS campgrounds, at least in Michigan, remain open when the snow comes, for snowmoblers, tenter / hikers and other winter explorers. some have no fee, others are very inexpensive during the off season.

I had a blast last year, Michigan had an almost non existent winter it terms of precipitation, so driving with a trailer was no problem! Camping deep the woods in January is very very quiet and peaceful.

They have several places listed for each state, and perhaps you can list the free ones that you have found too! I think that they mostly want places that are free, or under $15 a night. So with the military discount or over 65 card, that would apply, and be helpful to others using this website!

    Thanks,

    Fred.
