French Quarter RV Resort

We normally like to stay in State Parks, COE, National forest campgrounds but on our way to Florida we wanted to stop off in New Orleans and enjoy the food. (Didn't enjoy the garbage, smell of sewer nor the derelicts sleeping in some of the doorways or sitting there with their cans begging when they are more able to work than I am) Now back to original subject.......We stayed at French Quarter RV Resort and it was really nice. It was also really expensive but since we weren't towing we splurged and went for it. The sites are made up of paver bricks and are very level. The people there were very helpful. The showers are in a private bathroom of which they have several. The showers are very large. It is fenced and gated. Some problems with hearing the traffic from I-10 but we were up front near the office so with air conditioner noise we didn't near it. If you can afford it I highly recommend it. Like I said. It was a splurge for me!

We stayed there last year and really like the proximity to the activity in the quarter. It was an easy walk to restaurants and bars and I didn't feel like there was any threat/security issues in the area. We plan to go back in the fall
  • The big selling point is that its only a half mile walk to Bourbon Street and its the only game in town, RV-wise. Mardi Gras 2015 begins on Feb. 17th. You've already missed it for 2014. If you're over 30, that's a good thing. :)

Welcome to the reality of New Orleans versus the myth/hype.

Oh.....I hate that I missed mardigras.......;). I sure hope I miss it again next year......and the next! LOL
  • Stayed there for Mardi Gras 4 years ago, can't wait to go back ! A little expensive but cheaper than a DUI, if you are inclined to throw a few back !!
  • Stayed there last fall, great park and easy walk to French Quarter. If you didn't want to walk they would call for taxi and they would pick you up at site. Great people and helpful at every turn.
  • We stayed there a few years ago and it was nice but the traffic noise from the highway was a bit much at times. It seemed like sirens were almost constantly heard but we were at the end closest to the interstate so that explains it. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we liked being able to walk to so many places. We did take a taxi back after dark as recommended by the staff though.
  • If you are towing a car or don't mind a taxi we found the Pontchartrain Landing RV park to be very, very nice.
