Galveston TX area parks
Looking for a park on / close to the water in mid to late January. Is the Galeston SP of value? Do you have good recommendation based upon your experience? Thanks

Bumpy, not sure which campground you are talking about but I am interested. Is is west of the state park?

no where near the state park. just after coming across the causeway it is a few blocks to the right (South?). it is on the bay side of the island, not the gulf side. they changed names since I was there, maybe heaven something? will go to google earth and see if I can find it. I did post the gps coordinates here a long time back and will see if I can find those again. there is a restaurant adjacent .
it is on 63rd st., after getting off the causeway/road it is right (W?) on 61st and just past the bay.
on google earth it is easy to spot, they have added two piers since I was there.29-16-43-28 and 94 50 08 42 are as close as I can guess for gps coordinates.
just thought of another reason I didn't like the gulf side of the island, the shore line was choked with seaweed/kelp/whatever. a stinking terrible mess to try to wade in.
