Gatlinburg: Jellystone or Adventure Bound?

I'm looking at booking a site around July 2015. Possibly have it narrowed down to the two in the title. Any pros-cons on the two?
TripAdvisor seems better for Jellystone. The water slide at AB looks cool.
Open to any other suggestions in the Gatlinburg area as well.

Thanks

  • We stayed at Jellystone in October. Nice place, but a bit of a haul into Gatlinburg. Next time we will be staying at Twin Creek which is just a couple minutes outside of Gatlinburg and right across the street from a grocery store.
  • Jellystone to me is a better campground. They have alot activities for kids and really nice relaxed campground . Kids also enjoyed fishing and the water slide at Adventure . If your kids are active they wil LOVE the slide. First pics are of Jellystone and 2nd Adventure

I havent been to the Adventure Bound Resort place which looks like is connected to the Crazy Horse Camp Ground. Crazy Horse has been there a long time under a few different names over the years... It actually was closed for a couple of years at one time... Yogi Bear's Jellystone is really setup good for the kiddies...

We have stayed at the ARROW CREEK Camp Ground between the two camp grounds you have listed here but it is a NO FRILLS site. Being along the creek you might get to see a bear. We got up one morning at ARROW CREEK and you couldn't drag our little dog out of the trailer haha... Then later on we heard that a BEAR was there through the night...

All of these camp grounds on 321 are few miles away from Gatlinburg and groceries... Going to sightsee Gatlingburg shops and places to eat will require parking your truck at a parking lot and walking around for hours on end. Going to Pigeon Forge you can usually park outside of the places you want to visit.

We love the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area from as far back in the 70s
Most of the time we always camp at ELKMONT inside the Natl Park with no hook ups haha...

  • I have driven through both just to check them out. We decided that if we were to stay that direction we would stay at Jellystone, AB just looked a little run down. This was summer of 2013 so things might have changed, but that's my 2 cents.
  • I stayed at the Jellystone and really liked it! Great reviews on RV Park Reviews.

My buddy stayed at Adventure Bound. He really liked it there too.

I also considered both, but went with the Jellystone based on the reviews and the fact you could get a nice relaxing stream side site. Beautiful setting!
