We've had A Wells Fargo Visa DEBIT Card for 6 years now. Sufficient for us. Could access the checking and savings accounts over the Internet. Used our USA address to get it. Accepted at all local stores and online stores, e,g. those online American stores/suppliers where you can only select an American state for your VISA card.
We normally brought a Bank Draft down to the USA and deposited it in the Nashville Wells Fargo (nearest to Ontario the way we go). Then we could use the VISA for gas, etc. etc. Cash for Ontario to Nashville.
We used to avoid any wells Fargo bank charges by automatically transferring $35 from the checking account to savings account every month. At end of stay, we'd transfer the savings to the checking, use it up, and avoid any bank charges.
Now Wells Fargo have closed that loophole and will be charging $10/$12 every month. It's not worth it.
What are our choices ? We use BMO, BNS, and TD in Ontario. We don't want to have to fiddle about changing addresses. There is no problem with us using the Campground's US address.
Thanks for any suggestions.
