My fiancee' and I sold our stuff and bought our RV to see the country. Now that we're nearing the end of the trip we need to settle down and look for a place to stay while we seek employment. That part is easy... the settle down part isn't!Looking to stay for around a month. Plan is to get jobs, put the RV up for sale (:(), and find an apartment.Reading reviews for Phoenix-area RV parks leaves me in a daze. There are many conflicting reviews or some places with no reviews at all!Covered Wagon (Yelp, google with 7 reviews) seems to be in a bad area of town but the park sounds nice. Management worries me though; especially being a younger couple from Massachusetts. Desert Sands doesn't have many reviews. trip advisorDesert Shadows doesn't seem to have ANY reviews except one that says its a 55+ park (isn't listed as such) and they had to pay the WEEKLY rate because they were younger.Anyone have input on this? We'll be arriving in a few days!

Look at the website "Good Sam RV Parks" or buy the Good Sam RV Parks from Camping World. If you can't find the information or description you are looking for, the RV Park probably dosen't exist or chooses not to advertise in the Good Sam RV Parks. Personally, I do not stay in RV parks that are not listed but this dosen't mean that there might be some RV Parks not listed but still would be ok!Tell us the general area in Ariz. you are looking at and we can give you some recommendations.I just typed in Chandler and about 15 RV Parks showed up in the Mesa area. Chandler dosen't appear to have any RV parks in that specific area:)

Eagle View @ Ft McDowell, Usery Mtn @ Mesa are my first two choices.

Given your circumstances and the need to rely on public transportation, I would search around for an RV Park in the Mesa ,Tempe or the Scottsdale area. Although Scottsdale can tend to be a pricey area. Type any one of these areas in the Good Sam RV Parks web site and you will get quite a few choices.

I would think MESA and even out to Apache Junction would be great choices for a nice RV Place. The Phoenix area has a good by-pass road system to get you almost anywhere you need to go in a short time.

We are kinda special to the SUPERSTITION MTNs and North East side of town areas... Hard to beat this area in the middle of the summers there...

We ended up at the only place, (and trust me I called everywhere I could find), that would allow something so old was Scottsdale Trailer Corral.

So, just over $600 later (nearly all our savings!) we have a home for a month. Now to find jobs, then a car, then an apartment!

Starting from the bottom isn't easy!!

Arizona Cowboy RV Park in Mesa is very good. Stayed there a couple times.

We're planning on relying strictly on bicycles and public transportation till we can save enough for a basic car and I can get my motorcycle shipped down here from MA!

Looking at Tempe now. There are two parks that seem less discriminatory; www.tempetraveltrailervilla.com/ and http://apachepalmsrvpark.com/

Going to call them now and see if they have room!

FYI there is a light rail system that runs through Mesa, and busses as well. They all accommodate bikes, so the lack of a car is not an issue (unless, of course) you stay or interview too far from public transportation. Now that the heat is over (high in 80's) the weather is no longer a factor. Apache Palms is not my favorite place to stay, but it is located on the light rail line (in Mesa), so you could walk your bikes out the door to it.

Rent a car when necessary!! If you do it soon, you'll beat the price increase that comes with the arrival of the snowbirds.
