Good location on Oregon coast for a week's stay?

Thanks for all the great suggestions! Much appreciated. It looks like we will be staying at South Beach just south of Newport.

We have a membership in Thousand Trails and can stay there for free (excepting the annual fee). We also have a membership in KM Resorts and could stay at their Neskowin CG near Pacific City but we stayed there once and the CG is rather boring.

Seems like there's lots to see and do in and around Newport and as mentioned, many attractions aren't that far away. We could even go into Corvalis and see what there is to see. Have only ever blasted right through it on the I5.

Someone mentioned a casino and it looks like the closest is Chinook Winds in Lincoln city?

North bend Mill casino has a good rv park but if you want crab try big spruce rv in Netarts. Rent boats and pots manager is great will help you out were the crab are. Out today for about 2hours dw and i got 19 nice ones they will cook them up for you if you want. pasport america aceped year around $15 a nite

I like Forence and the Forest Service camp grounds.
If you have an INTERAGENCY RECREATION pass then they are only $10 a night and the pass allows you access to many of the site seeing areas along the coast. It cost $80, but quickly pays for itself if you are going to be stopping at national parks, national monuments and forest service areas that have fees.
The sand rail ride on the dunes is a must to get your adrenaline flowing.
Spice restaurant in old Florence has some of the best food on the coast!

Harris Beach St Park is closed from Sept 8th 2015 to May 25th 2016 for repaving.

Great park though. Some of the prettiest beaches on the Oregon coast are in the southern section.

Not sure what you want for hookups and what your interests are of course. We have been there several times and, God willing, going back next year. We love walking the beach.

We like Cannon Beach and that area best of all. Love Ecola S P with Indian Beach. But you say you will be in Seaside so moving south. We love Newport area and stay at the Marina there - always interesting right there at the park with the marina! And sea lions in town. Great aquarium if you are into that.

Winchester Bay had a fantastic rv park but not much to do in that area unless you are in dune buggies.

And we really like Bandon area. Nice town and great beach walking and things to do. And, of course, golf --- if you play and have lotsa bucks. I don't play golf anymore.

Old Town Florence is neat.

Great lighthouses to see all along there - Florence, Bandon, etc.

We hope to be on the Coast about 5-6 weeks next summer.

Crabbing has been safe all summer. The recommendation is not to eat the viscera. The only closures have been for razor clams and mussels.Check this link
