I'm glad you posted to inform others.
I would also follow up and make sure Park Rangers are doing what they are supposed to do in these cases. Such as provide you with a case number? A case number would at least show me that someone has started something and maybe even get them on the ball.
As far as being armed, I wouldn't assume the thieves were or were not armed. But the thieves probably aren't going to miss any choir practice stealing your stuff.
