Green Comet?

Has anyone seen the comet?
Went out east of Casa Grandebefore moon came up and there was to much light pollution.Got a good view of Orion but to much light to see the milky way. Will take my binocs,15x70 Celestons, next week when I go to Amboy crater. Will also be first trip with F250 and the Bronco 800
I also got a good look at Venus and Mercury after sunset.Rare to see Mercury that bright,
  • I get to see it every night. started out by Orion's foot and quickly it's moving to Pleiades :)

I THINK I just MIGHT have seen a faint tail. I am in a pretty dark area, but I bet if it was darker, I would see it.
  • Finally had a clear evening here a couple of nights ago. Just a fuzzy blur with no discernable tail.
  • When I looked at Comet Lovejoy, it looked like a green fuzzball to me. From the Bay Area.

  • Tail or not, you still saw the comet. ;)

As in a link I posted above, U-2 pilots see comets, with tails, that we can't see at all on the surface. Obviously that's true with the space station crews also.

  • saw it again tonight :)

pretty fun, I thought it was supposed to be not visible after January. It sure has moved a long way.
  • Sue, where in Washington do you live?? I am guessing that you are east of the mountains (no clouds) and in a rural area, maybe near Yakima or Wenatchee??
