I remember when I got back into rv'ing and bought a tent trailer it had a rvq that hooked on the side. I never did use it like that, I always used the lefts and put it on a stable surface away fromt he camper. even if it doesnt get to hot, it has the potential to stain the side from grease or what not smoking off.

I wouldn’t be worried about it getting to hot. I set up my Coleman road-trip grill right against the exterior skin of the camper every time I go camping. Been doing that for about 25 years.
My Dad had one on one of his trailers... it was pretty cheap. Valve had a problem, they wanted more for valve than new stove... he never replaced it, just stopped using it.
