Gros Ventre or Atherton Creek campground?
We'll be in the Tetons during the first half of September and want to stay near Jackson. For those of you who have stayed (or at least visited) both campgrounds, which did you prefer?

The other thing you should know about Atherton is that there are a lot of grouse in the underbrush. Very nice, except that when they "drum" during mating season they sound like a far-away motorcycle that is hard to start -- "BRUM BRUm BRum Brum brum brum" -- and they do this throughout the night. It is pretty neat, but can be noisy. The same with the geese on the lake. And the coyotes in the hills.
When you spend your life listening to the background hum of the LA freeways and the distant roar of jets on approach, all of that natural noise can be hard to get used to.
