Lots to do in Gulf Shores and the general area. Mini golf, bumper boats, rides, go carts, Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. It’s just a 10 mile drive north to Foley where there is a train museum. The real attraction as far as I’m concerned is the million dollar “O” gauge train layout. Check online for the days they have the model trains running.
Just a few miles farther north in Summerdale is Alligator Alley and you can even feed the gators. Combine fun with education and take the family for the short drive to the end of Hwy 180 where Fort Morgan is located. You can take a self-guided tour of the Fort. You can also take a ferry ride across Mobile Bay to visit For Gaines. Both forts protected Mobile Bay during the civil war and this is where Admiral Farragut uttered the famous line, “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.”
BTW, the state park has a zip line course and a swimming pool and I ditto Jim Shoe’s suggestion to visit the Naval Air Museum.
